Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in the rent price?
We provide FREE cable and internet, parking, trash removal, recycling and snow removal.
Are there washers and dryers on the property?
Yes. Every apartment comes equipped with a washer and dryer.
Are meal plans required at The Verge?
No way! You moved off campus for a reason! Our goal is to provide you with quality comfort and luxury to live life the way that you want to live it. Besides, we give you a pretty nice range to cook some really good food.
Are pets allowed?
Absolutely! As long as your furry friends are under 50 lbs and not labeled as an aggressive breed!
What's the difference between The Verge lease-agreement and other apartment leases?
Our leases are joint with individual rent responsibility, so there is no way that you can get a random roommate based off a questionnaire. Individual rent responsibility means you only have to worry about your account. You will not be held responsible if your roommate(s) does not pay their rent!
How much does it cost?
Our prices vary depending on apartment size and location. Please contact our leasing office through phone, email, Facebook, Twitter, or stop by and we will gladly provide our prices to you.
Are the apartments furnished?
The apartments are fully furnished with living room, dining room and bedroom furniture.
What if I need maintenance in my room?
Our maintenance services are provided free of charge for any issues that are out of your control, including after-hour emergency maintenance. If you have any questions about fees please contact our office and we will gladly assist you with your specific issue.
Can I choose my roommates?
Of course! We aren’t the dorms. You can choose whoever you want to be your roommate as long as they pass our application process.
Are any students given preference or priority at The Verge?
No. The Verge is leased on a first-come, first-serve basis. Therefore, it is important that you sign your lease as soon as possible to secure accommodations for next year.
Can I have overnight guests?
Yes you can, as long as your roommates are okay with it. Your guest can only stay for up to three consecutive nights, and they will need a visitor’s parking pass or they will be towed. These can be obtained in our office.
I'm graduating in December. Can I get out of my lease-agreement?
The Verge does not allow people to get out of their lease agreements. The Verge does allow tenants to find someone to take over their lease agreements for them. The responsibility, however, is that of the tenant to find a replacement. Contact The Verge directly to find out ways to make finding a replacement a bit easier!
Is there parking on site? Do I have to pay to park?
Each apartment gets at least one parking space for FREE!
Is there a curfew at The Verge?
No. The Verge is an apartment facility and offers students a lot of freedom in an academic setting. We also are not strictly student housing. However, all residents are expected to behave in a mature, responsible and courteous manner while living here. You are one of hundreds of people living here!
Can I request a specific room or building at The Verge?
Absolutely! We will do our best to meet your requests, but we cannot guarantee that we can honor that request. If we can’t, we will do our best to find a suitable alternative.
I'm getting ready to move in, what should I bring?
You can bring whatever you want, just make sure you don’t bring any candles, water beds, halogen lamps, or charcoal grills. Here is a list to get you started: Shower curtain, plunger, toilet paper, toilet brush, bathroom mat, shower caddy, toothbrush holder, bath towels, mop and broom, vacuum cleaner, cleaning supplies, laundry basket, laundry detergent, bedding, hangers, dish towels, sponges, dishes, silverware, pots and pans, first aid kit, trash can, coasters, alarm clock, iron and ironing board, pot holders, dish rack, light bulbs.
When is my rent due?
You have three installment payment options to pay the entire amount due under the lease – one installment, two installments, or twelve installments. If you choose to pay a single installment for the entire amount, that single installment is due August 1. If you choose to pay in two semester installments, those installments are due August 1 and January 1. If you choose to pay in twelve installments, the first installment is due on August 1 and the remaining eleven installments are due on the 1st of the next eleven months. Please note that these are all installment payment options and not monthly rent.
